In the author's Number Stories of Long Ago these number puzzles were given without solutions. In prepar ing that little work for the pupils in the elementary school it was felt that much of the interest in the puzzles would be lost if any explanation were given in the text. It is evident, however, that the solutions of all the problems should be made somewhere available, and for that reason this pamphlet has been prepared.
