Larva - The larvae are at first little black Wingless grass hoppers. They change their skins during development about five times, the young Wings first appearing at the fifth change, the larva being yellowish-pink in colour. The changes of skin take place about every fifteen days until the fully developed insect is Obtained.

Imago - The sixth change of the larval skin gives the full grown imago with fully developed Wings.
