Le théâtre représente l'atelier de Puget, à Florence. Au fond, une porte vitrée. De chaque côté de la porte, une fenêtre den nant sur un jardin. A gauche, sur le premier plan, un enfoncement fermé par une draperie et auquel on accède par deux marches. Quand la draperie s'écarte, on aperçoit un soubassement qui se perd dans la coulisse et sert de support à une statue de terre glaise placée hors de la vue du public. Adroite, porte de l'apper tement de Puget. Du même côté un divan. Çà et là ébauches de toute sorte. Au lever du rideau, la draperie est ouverte.
