For the convenience of the practitioner, we have also inserted the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure relating to juries, contempts, and evidence, and have added an appendix, in which will be found either the statutes themselves, or a reference to the statutes containing penal clauses, not a part of the Penal Code.

A table of cases cited has been deemed unnecessary, although the notes contain citations of several thousand cases and authorities.
