In dieser Studie soll die Verbindung von demokratischer Intel ligenz und entstehender Arbeiterbewegung am Ursprung ihres gemeinsamen Weges aufgesucht werden. Es sind namentlich zwei Aspekte des Geschehens, das zur Revolution führte, und des Sturmjahrs selbst, die uns beschäftigen werden. Zum ersten sollen jene Prozesse, die zur Modernisierung der Gesellschaftsstruktur führten, untersucht werden, besonders im Hinblick auf den so zialen Wandel in der werdenden Großstadt Wien.
