One of usl recently reported on several cases of inoperable carci noma and sarcoma which remained clinically cured for a number of years by the aid of radium and Roentgen-ray therapy. The number of similar cases reported by other investigators is so great, and the therapeutic action of these radiations is so frequently satisfactory under correct and uniform conditions, that the specific action of the rays on malignant tumors does not require any further discussion. The fact that in the vast majority of cases of malignant tumors which undergo the radium and Roentgen-ray treatment a palliation or a clinical cure and not a radical cure is obtained does not detract anything from the value of the method.
