We read of the Canephorce of Zeus at Haliartus in Boeotia. (plutarch, Amatoriae Narra tiones I.) The Scholiast on Aristo phanes (acharn. 242) speaks of the Canephoroe of Dionysius and those of Artemis are mentioned by Theocritus (id.
