These tests were carried on in the testing laboratory at the University of Wisconsin during the winter and spring of 1915. All brick used in the tests were obtained at the same plant in order that there might be no differ ence in the materials from which they were made. Care was taken to select brick from the same part of the fur nace, in order that difference in degree of burning might not affect the results.
