The campaign being conducted in the Press in favour of a brighter London has assumed various forms, but so far as the literal interpretation of the phrase is concerned it will naturally meet with sympathy on the part of illuminating engineers. It is agreed that much might be done by the improvement of existing lighting conditions, to make London amore cheerful place in the evening. But discrimination in the use of light should be shown.
