The nature of the population of this city, subject as it is, in common with the population of other manufacturing cities, to much fluctuation, renders an Annual Directory desirable, in order to present a correct view of the city as it is. The number of removals, changes, &c. For the past year, has been very great, which has enhanced the need of a Directory much above the wants of ordinary years.
