Inhaltsangabe

Excerpt from Moses Leib Lilienblum

This is how the terrible events of 1881 are reflected in his diary. He writes out a passage of Ovid with a Hebrew translation; then suddenly breaks off and adds this verse from Jeremiah: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. And seekest thou great things? Seek them not!
