It is hoped eventually to make a list, which shall include not only the present matter, with more bibliographical detail, but also more in the way of genealogical material, such as British county and town histories, parish registers, wills, etc., of which this Library has an important collection, and to which it is constantly adding. The pres ent index may therefore be regarded as prefatory only to a more com prehensive attempt.
