But this philofophical notion of 1 ideas does not refpeei: vifible objects alone it extends equally to thofe of every other fenfitive *faculty 3 and win this philofophy the idea is fuppofed to lhdve me external object for its archetype, with which tit correfponds2 And it [clearly appears from their writings, that philofo phers of this olafs conceive, that befides [the various vifible objects with which rthey are furrounded, there 'exifis a difiine't fet ofminute images projected on the retinae'
