Combining ancient philosophy with the author's own concepts, this book examines the nature of humans and the universe as extensions of one another. The author posits that as the universe is comprised of Mind, humans are also composed of Mind, examining the gradations into which this Mind filters as it flows into the material world via the Elemental, Animal, and Vegetable. These concepts extend into the discussion of social evolution over time, arguing that humans have devolved physically and cognitively in modern times. The author connects this degradation to the shift away from natural living into the present state of societal living. The book concludes with the hypothesis that humanity is now poised to once again ascend this ladder of evolution through the use of reason, approaching the heightened mental capabilities of our ancestors.
