The pupils of the Model School de serve much credit for assembling in so large numbers on the closing day, considering the many drawbacks of the last month. It is always hard to hold the children's interest after the town schools close, and this year the State Board came later than usual. The week given up to celebrating Indiana's Centennial had intensified the longing for vacation and freedom and when we consider the effect of three contagious diseases, mumps, measles, and scarlet fever, which di minished the school nearly one half.
