In this land of ours where everybody can read and few do, we dismiss the author as a man who has written a book, and let it go at that. We like to meet him, or at least we like to say we have met him; but when we do we don't know what to say to him. We feel we ought to talk about his books but we are afraid of getting in over our heads.
