Williamson County is located in Central Texas and lies, for the most part, in the famous Black Land Belt. The soil is very fertile. The principal occupation of the people is agriculture. Cotton is the leading field crop, though corn and small grains are raised to some extent.
The county contains no large cities. Georgetown, Gran ger, Jarrell, Taylor, Liberty Hill, Florence, Hutto, and Round Rock are the principal towns. The population 1s essentially a rural population. The county contains square miles and has a total population of persons, or 38 people to the square mile.
