Besides consuming such a vast proportion of the beef exported from the United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain is likewise a voracious customer for American bacon, hams, and lard. Between 20 and 25 per cent of the desh food of the people of the United Kingdom consists of hog products. About 13 per cent of those hog products comes from other countries, and 14 per cent of the live cattle and dressed beef and mutton is also imported.
