Mars is thought to revolve about its own axis in twenty-four hours forty minutes; and Venus, according to Bianchini, ih' twenty-four days and eight hours; but, according to the opinion of Caflini,fiit is performed in twenty - four hours and a few od-d migniutes; When this 'planet precedes theiran, {he is called Lucifer, or the Morning-fiat; and when {he {ets after the fun, {he is named Vefperus, or the Evening Ptar. As for Mercury, we are not certain whether he turns'about his own axis or not.
