Excerpt from Diffraction at High Frequencies by a Circular Disc
Recently a very general method of tackling the asymptotic solution of diffraction problems has been proposed by Keller and Buchal Their method is applicable, in principle, to discs of arbitrary shape and it is therefore important to confirm that it gives the correct answer for the circular disc. Certainly, it supplies a scattering coefficient which is in agreement with the calculations of Levine and Wu as far as they go. For confirmation of higher order terms it would be necessary to extend the analysis of Levine and Wu.
