Le roi, pour la cinqui�me fois, a miraculeusement encore aujourd'hui �chappe a une nouvelle tentative d'assassinat. Ce soir a six heures, au moment o� il traversait le quai pour se rendre � Saint-Cloud un coup de feu a �t� tir� sur lui par un homme �ge d'environ trente ans, qui s'�tait a poste non loin du corps-de-garde qui est situ� � l'extr�mit� de la terrasse du bord de l'eau presqu'en face le pont de la Chambre des d�putes. L'assassin n'avait sans doute choisi cette position que parce qu'il �tait inform� que le roi ne passe jamais devant un poste sans mettre lu t�t� a la porti�re de la voiture et saluer. Le roi, qui occupait le devant, s'est empresse d'avertir par un signe qu'il n'avait pas �t� atteint. La voiture a continue sa route sur Saint-Cloud sans s'arr�ter.

On ajoute, mais c'est une version dont l'exactitude ne nous est pas garantie, que l'arme de ce nouvel Alibaud aurait �clate dans sa main et lui aurait emporte plusieurs doigts. Ce qui est certain, c'est que la place o� il a �t� arr�te �tait tach�e de sang. L'arme dont il s'est servi, si l'on en juge par la baguette, doit �tre une carabine ou un pistolet d'ar�on. Le meurtrier a �t� arr�te; il a avou� sou crime.
