Upon the whole, therefore, it is hoped that this undertaking has been so accomplished as to present a combination of talents in the respective arts em ployed, which equals, if not excels, any specimen of a similar description that has hitherto issued from the Press.

It was intended to attach to this Edition a Sketch of the Author's Life, and in apology for its omission, the Reader is informed, that, every pro bable source of information having been searched, no Memoir or Account can be obtained that may be depended upon.
