Already the wind had sunk into the dead silence that so often follows a more than usually furious gale; and the silver road of the moon was unbroken save by a few black hollows here and there. But the waves were still heaving and swelling against the huge wall of rock with a thundering force that out lasted the strength of the wind that had called them into fury.
