This small volume is merely a sketch of some of the material which the average man may not have at hand regarding latin-american conditions and of some of the facts and principles Which ought to be before him in order that he may think intelligently and sympatheti cally on the highly important matter of our relations to our latin-american neighbors. If, as these studies seek to show, we have some things which can be of service to our neighbors, they also have something to teach us of kindness and courtesy and high idealism in the face of great discouragements. There is less unity be tween them and us than there ought to be. It is the aim of this little book to quicken the desire for more.
