The results obtained in the use of the book have confirmed the author in his belief that the statements made in the preface to the first edition are correct and that the method of presenting the subject of quantitative analysis which has been adopted is an improvement over that heretofore in general use, at least where students of a sufficient degree of maturity are concerned and where the training which it is desired to give them is not of a specialized character.
