I have long contemplated the preparation of the follow ing form of family devotion. A great multitude of books for this purpose have been issued from time to time, but in most of them the prayers are so long, and depart so widely from the Liturgical spirit of the Prayer-book, that they soon become wearisome. There are other compositions of a proper Liturgical character, but most of these are very elaborate, and their use requires that an expensive book shall be in the hands of each member of the family.
