Excerpt from Two Thousand Years in Celestial Life: Introduction to Science and Key of Life, Manifestations
Within the past four years, Mr. Henry Clay Hodges, of Detroit, Michigan, has received through psychic force, a series of remarkable communications under the following circumstances: Early in 1897, in said city, in company with six others, four gentlemen and two ladies, he commenced an inquiry with the view of investigating truth in connection with psychic phenomena. The meetings of the seven, one of whom possessed marked psychic powers, were continued weekly, with little interruption from that time to this. They have been held with closed doors, no other persons having been admitted, and the results attained have been extraordinary. Of this society Mr. Hodges is the leading member, and Mr. W. E. Cole, the psychic; a quiet, unassuming, married gentleman of 30 years of age, of limited common-school education, of the highest character, residing at 221 Park street, of which premises he and his wife are joint owners.
