I have made in this summary work no claim to erudition, but I have applied to it great solicitude for exactness and modernness of doctrine.

If I have thought it proper to indicate authorities almost paragraph by paragraph, it is because I had need of preserving myself from any involuntary error. It is also because I have provided for the case where some student should make use of my little book as an index, or as a bibliography easy to consult.
