In the list of artificial flies for every month Of the angling season I have emphatically pointed out the most killing ones, shown several ways of making them, and stated when and where, and what fish they will take. Every fly in the list is more or less necessary; and in the text will be found my Opinion Of each artificial insect that deserves special notice In composing the list, I have called to my ald the best authorities on the subject of artificial flies.

There will be found a chapter on the materials and manufacture of rods, in which those fittest for salmon and trout fishing are pointed out; and the greatest care has been taken in stating the materials of which they should be manufactured.
