IN writing this book I have had one great advantage, viz., access to the Report on Trusts (cd. 9236, and the subsequent publications up to May, 1921, of the sub-committees appointed under the Standing Committee on Trusts. I gratefully acknowledge my debt to all previous writers on the subject. My justification for going over the same ground is the profound change that has taken place in British industrial organization as a result of the Great War.
