A single Pawn cannot win, if its own king is so placed that he cannot cover it against the motions of the opposite king; but if he is, then it may win.
Two pawns against one must win gene rally; but the proprietor of the two pawns should be careful not to exchange one for his adversary's pawn, except to gain the position.
