Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Edward Bartlett Nitchie (1876-1917) was the Principal of The New York School for the Hard-of-Hearing. He dedicated his career to educating individuals with hearing impairments and was a pioneer in the field of lip-reading instruction. Nitchie's work focused on developing practical techniques and exercises for enhancing lip-reading skills, aiming to empower individuals with hearing challenges. His contributions have had a lasting impact on the education and communication strategies for the hard-of-hearing community.
