In 2011, having been lovengly restored, I returned the Green Machine to it's former glory cycling from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), through Vietnam and China to Hong Kong. At the outset I was apprehensive, but through perseverance I gained conviction. By overcoming challenges along the way, I came to realise that adventure is as much about discovering yourself as it is exploring new landscapes and cultures. Riding the Green Machine, my progress had a tangible quality. The further I rode, the more I felt a sense of purpose.
