Críticas:
"If Victor Gischler's Stay ever morphs into a movie script, they'll slap an R rating on it. Stay teems with enough violence to fill an entire shelf of crime thrillers. But guess what? It's a dandy tale.[...] Is the gory plot realistic? Of course not. Is the book fun? You bet." --St. Louis Post-Dispatch "Gischler keeps readers on the edge of their seats... and the writing is always well done. It's a fun read and a read that once begun is difficult to put down." --Examiner "Gischler has the unique gift of being able to write intense action and brilliant comedy in the same moment. The juxtaposition of the two is simultaneously hilarious and thrilling. This book proves Gischler's skill as the master of the game... It is the perfect thriller wrapped in a sweet suburban theme and I hope that we'll see more David Sparrow in the future." --Crime Spree Magazine "Edgar-finalist Gischler offers tornado-paced shoot-'em-up action in this can't-put-it-down thriller." --Publishers Weekly (starred) "With TV rights already sold to CBS, this family-in-jeopardy thriller should have a long life...You can easily recommend this thriller to fans of Robert K. Tanenbaum or Sandra Brown-a perfect fit for the high-octane crowd." --Booklist "Yet Gischler's humor makes this male fantasy yarn go down easy." --A Kirkus Summer Must-Read "Gischler hasn't just knocked this one out of the park, he's not even playing the same sport anymore. Stay is a master class on the suburban thriller. The tension is perfection, the writing is smooth and addictive, and the characters at the center of the mayhem are a brilliant update on the modern nuclear family. Not to be missed. This one screams blockbuster." --Blake Crouch, author of international bestselling Wayward Pines series and Fox Television show Wayward Pines "This is a damn fine book by a damn fine writer, and I want more." --Greg Rucka, New York Times bestselling author of Alpha "A marvelous addition to an already remarkable body of work from one of the most creative crime writers in the business." --Michael Koryta, New York Times bestselling author of Those Who Wish Me Dead "Victor Gischler is one of my favorite crime writers, and Stay is a kick-ass thriller that will set your pulse pounding and keep you turning pages all night. I loved it." --Sean Chercover, bestselling author of Trigger City and The Trinity Game "This book kept me enthralled from the beginning to the end. It was mainly a suspense story but it also touched on the undertones in a marriage and the combination was great." --Confessions of a Semi-domesticated Mama.com
Reseña del editor:
David Sparrow is an awesome stay-at-home dad. He gets his kids ready for school while his wife, Amy, commutes to New York City, where she is an Assistant District Attorney. She just inherited a major case: prosecuting crime lord Dante Payne. Meanwhile, David is content chatting with the moms at school drop-off, and doing housework. One night, David is awoken by a sound downstairs, and discovers a man in Amy's office. lnstinctively, David confronts the man and a fight begins. But not a fight between a stay-at-home dad and a common burglar. No, this is a fight out of a Bourne movie and it is intense. David wins, but barely. He tries to explain to the cops that this guy was no ordinary burglar but they ignore him, especially when they find out what he does for a "living." We discover that David is a former Solo Ops officer, a soldier who was routinely dropped in war zones with a specific mission. If he was caught, the US government would disavow all knowledge of him. David was honourably discharged after too many missions and was excited for a quiet, normal life. However, with Dante Payne now targeting Amy and her family, David decides to reactivate himself and take the fight to the vicious criminal lord. And Dante Payne has no idea who he's just crossed.
