""Pharisaism: Its Aim And Its Method"" is a book written by R. Travers Herford in 1912. The book explores the religious and political movement of the Pharisees in ancient Judaism, examining their beliefs, practices, and influence on Jewish society. Herford argues that Pharisaism aimed to preserve and interpret Jewish law and tradition, and that their method involved a rigorous adherence to legalism and a focus on individual moral purity. He also discusses the Pharisees' interactions with other Jewish sects and with the Roman authorities during the Second Temple period. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of Judaism and the development of religious movements. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Even the fine work ofO esterley and Box, The Religion and Worship of theS ynagogue, though it is written in a spirit of courtesy, and with a sincere desire to understand the Rabbinical position and to recognise whatever is good in it, yet judges it by the standard of the Christian
