Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
GEORGE HENRY PREBLE (1816-1885) was a Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy who became an author in his retirement. His writing focused on naval history, however, he is most noted for his thorough research on the history of the U.S. flag. The Fort McHenry flag he photographed was the inspiration for The Star-Spangled Banner.
