This I did for the sake of setting its doctrines in a clearer and more distinct light. This Appendix refers to all the passages in which the discourse, as preached, and the discourse as printed, differ from one another, so that any one can see exactly what alteration has been made. I have put the "various readings " in the Appendix, that the pages of the discourse might appear without the blemish of marginal notes.
