LESSON 36 THE WATER DROPS Read the poem given in the last lesson until you can tell--Where the water drops lived. What they decided to do. How they made the journey. What accident occurred. Where they were compelled to wander. How they were taken home. Sometimes in a poem or story things that are very unlike, such as a person and drops of water, are compared. Sometimes a cloud is spoken of as if it were a wagon. Language, like this, in which very unlike things are compared, is called figurative. Is the language of the poem, "The Water Drops," figurative, or not? Why? To what is each of the following things compared? The water drops. The cloud. The breeze.
