This book details a design proposal for a Long-Range, High-Speed, Precision Strike Tactical Weapon (LRHSPSTW). The purpose of this weapon is to provide a fast, accurate, and powerful surgical strike weapon with the goal of Denial of Combat Potential and Initiative. The missile also has the capability of responding quickly to time critical targets, such as mobile missile launchers or key enemy personnel, both of which may have very short dwell times. Many missile configurations were initially investigated. The design space allowed for variation in engine types (rocket powered, rocket powered with an aeropropulsive-assist, and full air-breathing), number of stages, and fuel type (solid or liquid). The resulting design is a combined rocket propelled first stage booster and a high-speed, air-breathing, payload delivery vehicle. Upon injection at altitude, the vehicle is powered by an air-breathing engine at Mach 5, which carries it to its target.
