In case of high-rise structures counteracting of lateral forces i.e. earthquake and wind force are significant challenges. There should be a proper vertical lateral load transferring system to transfer horizontal loads to foundation. There are numbers of techniques available which are widely used in the past and today to counteract the effect of lateral loads. Tubular system is one of the very effective and efficient structural system which is invented by great fazl Rahman Khan, widely used for construction of concrete and steel tall buildings. In this system the lateral loads have been transferred by peripheral columns and deep spandrel beams. This system consist of closely spaced columns with commonly 1.54m, 3mand 4.54m center to center spacing and connected through deep spandrel beam with each other to form rigid moment frame action.Another very effective system which commonly used for stabilization of high-rise buildings is outrigger belt truss with core shear wall. In this technique basically core shear wall is used for structure strength and transfer the lateral load to foundation and outrigger is used to increase its lateral stiffness, in this system the outer columns are connected to core shear wall through belt trusses to increase its later stiffness. Locations and number of outriggers are very important which need to be optimized.
