Training is a kind of planned programs designed to enhance performance at the individual, group, and/or organizational levels. The performance thus improvised, in turn, communicates that there have been a lot of changes in knowledge, skills, attributes, and/or social responsiveness. Evaluation of the training program is also done to check it’s effectiveness for the organization to achieve its goal.There are two main job approaches which describe the mode of working of the business management. There are many needs of a business requirement and the learning objectives of performing well in the projects. The working of a business establishment can be conducted mainly from the two approaches which are on the job and off the job approach (Michael Lechner, 2000). There are better chances of learning and taking in the working environment in the on the job approach of learning (Johnny Hellgren, Magnus Sverke, Kerstin Isaksson, 1999). There are various models which can help achieve the targeted goals. The working conditions in the office are ideal for learning the planning and development of the management processes and thus on the job approach is applicable and productive field of working in the business management.The off the job approach however is different than working in the office since it requires the employee to move out of the office and involve in work enhancing activities or sometimes his requirement is off board like a project given in a different place which require supervision or active participation. There can be many categories in which one can divide the off the job working scenarios (Barry M. Staw, Nancy E. Bell, John A. Clausen, 2008). The paper discusses the two approaches with special attention to one of the selected one. The positives and negatives of the processes are also discussed.
