Joachim Metternich heads the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) at Technical University of Darmstadt. After studying industrial engineering and completing his doctorate at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Metternich spent 11 years working in industry for several German companies at national and international production sites. Most recently he was responsible for the global production system of a rail vehicle supplier before returning to the Technical University of Darmstadt. His research focuses on lean value streams and the use of digitalisation and machine learning to further develop lean production.
Marvin Müller is a customer success manager at SFM Systems GmbH, where he works on the development and implementation of digital daily management for industrial customers. Dr.-Ing. Müller completed his dissertation on the topic of text mining in digital daily management at the Institute of Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) at the Technical University of Darmstadt in 2022.
Christian Hertle is managing director of SFM Systems GmbH and is responsible for Business Development. Dr. -Ing. Hertle studied at the Institute of Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) at Technical University of Darmstadt for several years, specialising in daily management and its digitalisation for several years before he completed his dissertation on skills development in daily management in 2017.
Lukas Longard has been a senior engineer and doctoral student at the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Dr.-Ing. Longard’s research focuses on the development and implementation of data-driven approaches in digital daily management and performance management systems. As part of his work at the institute, he advises SMEs on the topics of digitalisation and lean production.
Yuxi Wang (MSc) is a research assistant and doctoral student at the Institute of Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Her main research area is data- based decision support systems for deviation management on the shop floor.
