Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Personal Names From Cuneiform Inscriptions of Cappadocia' is a meticulous philological reference work dedicated to the analysis of onomastic data found within the Old Assyrian tablets of Asia Minor. This scholarly compilation provides a comprehensive index of personal names recorded in cuneiform, offering a window into the diverse ethnic and cultural tapestry of the ancient world during the early second millennium BCE.The work focuses on identifying and categorizing names derived from various linguistic strata, including Semitic, Anatolian, and other regional influences present in the merchant colonies of Cappadocia. By organizing these names systematically, the text facilitates a deeper understanding of the social and economic interactions between the Assyrian traders and the indigenous populations of the Anatolian plateau. It serves as an indispensable resource for assyriologists, linguists, and historians interested in the prosopography and demographic history of the Ancient Near East. Through this rigorous examination of ancient inscriptions, the work preserves vital evidence of the individuals who shaped the historical and linguistic landscape of ancient Mesopotamia and its surrounding territories. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
