Make Everybody Rich : Industry's New Goal

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Make Everybody Rich; Industry's New Goal' presents a provocative and optimistic vision for the future of American capitalism, written during the height of the economic expansion of the late 1920s. In this influential work, Benjamin A. Javits argues that the ultimate purpose of industry is not merely the pursuit of individual profit, but the creation of universal wealth and the eradication of poverty through superior industrial organization and coordination. Javits explores the concept of 'enlightened selfishness,' suggesting that when businesses prioritize the welfare of consumers and employees, they secure their own long-term stability and success. The book explores the transition from destructive competition to a model of constructive cooperation, proposing that modern industry should be managed as a vital social service. By examining the evolving roles of labor, management, and the public, Javits outlines a roadmap for a 'new era' where industrial efficiency and high productivity lead to a significantly higher standard of living for all members of society. This treatise serves as a significant historical document, capturing the pre-Depression era's profound faith in technological progress and economic planning. It remains a compelling study for readers interested in economic history, the evolution of industrial management, and the philosophical foundations of corporate social responsibility. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
