Germany in Transition : Lectures on the Harris Foundation

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Germany in Transition' provides a detailed scholarly exploration of the German nation during a period of profound transformation following the First World War. Based on a series of influential lectures delivered in 1924, this work by Herbert Kraus offers a contemporary analysis of the political, legal, and social foundations of the Weimar Republic. At a time when Europe was still reeling from the aftermath of the Great War, Kraus examines the internal struggles and external pressures that defined the new German state. The text focuses heavily on the complexities of international law and the specific implications of the Treaty of Versailles on German sovereignty and domestic policy. Through a rigorous intellectual lens, the author discusses the evolution of the German constitution and the shifting dynamics of national identity. Germany in Transition serves as an essential primary document for understanding the fragile stability of the mid-1920s and the intellectual discourse surrounding Germany's place in the modern international order.
