After Nine Years

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'After Nine Years' provides a profound retrospective on the rapid evolution of the electrical industry during a pivotal era of American industrial history. Written by Edwin Wilbur Rice, a visionary electrical engineer and a key executive at General Electric, this work captures an insider's view of the technological and organizational milestones that defined the early twentieth century. Rice reflects on a decade of unprecedented growth, documenting the transition of electrical power from a novel scientific pursuit into the foundational infrastructure of modern society. The narrative explores the intersection of scientific inquiry and industrial application, detailing the challenges involved in scaling power generation and distribution. As one of the primary architects of the modern corporation, Rice offers valuable insights into the management strategies and engineering breakthroughs that allowed large-scale enterprises to flourish. 'After Nine Years' serves as both a historical record of General Electric's development and a broader commentary on the spirit of innovation. It remains a significant text for those interested in the history of technology, the rise of the American electrical grid, and the leadership philosophies that guided the first generation of industrial pioneers. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
