This is a conference guidebook is designed to empower a family by learning the 12 key issues they will likely face in a journey with substance misuse. By educating the families about how to use the Family Transformational Response Model (F.T.R.): 1. Define each issue the family faces, 2. How the issue will impact the family, 3. What the family can do to prepare for the issue, 4. Who is here to help the family with each issue and 5. What should the family has as expectations and outcomes. These family's will be able to prepare for over 76% of what they are likely going to experience. The family will also learn how to access the four primary support structures. The Family is its own support structure, 2. The City, police and its professional community are a family support structure, The Schools are a family support structure and 4. The churches are family support structures. This is where the family will need to turn to for help in their journey. From the written exercises in each section, the family will collectively build their own Family "Plan of Action' to then use when they return home.
