Ken Davenport and Gunter Reinholt have seven days to return a stolen piece of technology to the aliens, or people they care greatly for are going to die. The technology is believed to be in the hands of Ken's former senior officer, a man by the name of Major Jack Remington. To track the man down, Ken must first locate Captain Joe Landers, another one of Ken's ex-bosses. Landers departed the alien island two days prior to Ken. He was headed for Elizabeth City, North Carolina. By the time Ken reaches the East Coast, he and Gunter have only three days left to secure the item, after which they must get underway, back to the alien occupied island. When they finally touch ground, in Elizabeth City, they find Cpt. Landers running for his life. Turns out, the US Government wants the alien technology in the worst sort of way, and is apparently willing to do just about anything to secure it; including murdering innocent people. Joining forces, the three men, along with Miles Hodges—a detective who is also caught up in the conspiracy—head for Washington D.C. to commit the biggest crime of their lives, and one that could result death sentences for each and every one of them.Back on the alien atoll, the apple of Ken's eye, a beautiful woman by the name of Chandler, is brutally assaulted and nearly raped by one of the prison guards. When Sara Pearson intervenes, by killing the brute during the attempted the rape, Chandler, Sara and five year old Emily Pearson find a way to escape the prison.Ken is finally able to trace Jack Remington to a cay near Abaco Island, in the Bahamas. However, when he and his accomplices arrive on the minuscule island, Ken has less than twenty hours to retrieve the article. But that is not the only problem facing the young scientist. Turns out, Joe Landers no longer has chivalrous intentions, but has decided to team back up with his demented partner, Jack Remington. Compounding all of that, there is also a team of CIA operatives on the cay and they intend to steal the item as well. When Ken and Miles head to a remote ravine, to overtake Jack Remington and the alien technology, they encounter a macabre murder scene, where an alien laser has apparently been activated. Among the dead are three CIA operatives. Jack Remington, however, is no where to be found. Neither is the technology.Meanwhile, back on the alien atoll, a group of alien dignitaries are expected to arrive any day, and they are not coming to earth to hand out accolades. The aliens in charge of the atoll are in a lot of trouble and likely to be prosecuted for many missteps, including the loss of a critical piece of technology. Just prior to the arrival of the dignitaries, a troubled little alien named Aikoa decides to make a run for his life. After killing a soldier alien, Aikoa steals one of the alien's flying ships and flies off into the darkness. Hours later, the wild youth is photographed on the mainland of the United States.
