Inhaltsangabe

This collection of J. Marshall Freeman’s short fiction, including two award-winning short stories, takes the readers from the edge of the galaxy to the house next door, from fantastic fables to political cautionary tales. • A brilliant artist in a war-torn solar system fights for his life with ferocious talent and weaponized sexuality.
  • A beloved children’s entertainer unleashes his dark side when he is elected the nation’s new leader.
  • Two queer men from different generations meet at a luxurious garden party where the line between myth and reality blurs as the night wears on.
  • A brave soldier battles alone against an immortal tyrant, but the soldier’s fate is not one she could ever have anticipated.
  • The son of a fortune teller seeks in silk and ashes the answers to his own future.

“In the end, my thoughts returned most often to ‘Curo the Filthmonger,’ to the language and characters and, ultimately, the way it delighted my heart as both a writer and a reader.”
Michael Thomas Ford, Lambda Literary Award-winning author of
Suicide Notes and Every Star That Falls

“‘The Grove of Mohini’ moves toward a sense of erotic renewal, or at least the possibility of it, reminding us of how Eros can heal, inspire, renew hope, and invigorate body, heart, and mind.”
Jeff Mann, award-winning author of Purgatory and Cub
