The concept of “learning styles” was debunked in the 2000s as a “neuromyth.” However, we do learn more efficiently and effectively when our senses are recruited with the right instructional design. To coin an A.I. term, we are multimodal learners. We learn through sight, hearing, touch, and engaging in observation, exploration, inquiry, physical activity, discussion and problem solving.

In this book I share stories of how innovative teachers are enabling experiential learning, with virtual, mixed and augmented reality (XR) and artificial intelligence to transform how students learn and how learning is assessed. Teachers are taking students to places previously impossible and giving them lived experiences that are changing their lives, their perceptions of the world and accelerating learning. The future of learning is experiential.
